A diner who tried the kitsune udon said the flavour of the dashi stayed with them even after the meal. Udon Garyu also serves hot udon with toppings such as egg, chicken and spring onion, as well as plain udon. The same diner noted that the curry udon had a pleasantly moderate level of heat. Choose a bowl for its lingering dashi, or one for the flavour of curry—the menu offers different directions to suit your mood.
Seasoned rice is another option to have with your udon. One diner found it generously filled with ingredients, and others have enjoyed it alongside kitsune or curry udon. A diner who tried the kasu udon described its dashi as sweetish. On another occasion, someone paired kasu udon with seasoned rice and tempura, and was asked whether they wanted to eat the tempura with dipping sauce. Udon Garyu is open from 20:00 until 1:00 the following day, and is closed on Wednesdays. A bowl of udon is an option for a late-night meal.
